Also got an exhaust, just gotta put it on. Then lower.

And the Surf is back in my driveway, ready to get the Driveshafts shortened/Lenghtened (got a temporary one in there so it can drive)

Pics to come...

my morning was remove bullbar on a challenger, then aircon electric fan, spaced fan inwards on its mounting screws 4mm , then trim 4mm off the rim of the fan housing, removed a section or fan grille , refit now winch don't lean on the fan, so fan don't wear a hole in aircon condener :D

still tinkering away at the surf.
it got another wof :D
fixed one oil leak, still got one to go......
made 1/8npt to 1/8bsp adapter for the oil pressure gauge.
changed oil to 5w40 as the 15w50 was to darn thick causing rough engine at high rpm. 5w40 is ok but still has highish oil pressure until you give it stick and the oil heats up. really needs a 30 oil.

went out to farm to check out the maimai. got to use it in 4x4 on the grass  still havn't gotten around to fitting the lockers.

Started to fit all the fittings for my compressor setup, need to bolt in my compressor on my storage box, bolt in my storage box in the back of my truck, then all Iam waiting for is the fitting to attach to the tyre valve which I got from ASH Air so will get that on Monday.

Then noticed that the water was low in the Radiator :( so added half a 2.25L bottle so Iam getting a bit concerned now :?

Bought a boost gauge and GFB boost controller and the plan was to wind up the boost and fuel a bit once my new exhaust and dump pipe are done.

Fitted the boost gauge and it looks like the waste gate might be stuck or modified as I am getting 14lbs quite often.

Might not need the boost controller.....

with the motor warm and then remove the cap slowly

fill the raidator so coolant is level with overflow outlet
with motor idling keep watching the filler neck looking for regular bubbles coming out of the coolant
the level may drop away as the motor turns over so you will need to keep topping up until the level completely fills the filler neck

this is an indication that exhaust gasses are exscaping into the coolant then presurizeing the system resulting in pumping coolant out into the overflow bottle which overfills and dumps the excess out

if you do see bubbles then off to a workshop to get a TK (i think) test done this will confirm CO2 presents or not

if not then buy a OE radiator cap as when the spring goes a little bit, it will start dumping coolant as well

easy stuff to do your self before micnics start getting involved

My moto is always do the cheapest things first, radiator cap like Mudlva said and also get it hot and look for coolant leaks, maybe park it in the garage overnight, put newspaper on the floor under the engine and see if is stained in the morning get someone to presusure test the cooling system to look for leaks.

If you can't find anything then maybe a TK test.

Nice deal on those parts sibainmud.

Already replaced the radiator cap as the one I had on was buggered also replaced the thermostat as this was buggered too, I will do what you said in the morning and see what's what. Only reason is that I want to go out 4WDriving but I dont want to have to worry about heat Issues, and I rather find out now rather than while 4WDriving.

What is a TK Test :?: :?:

Had a great week/ weekend (been on Holiday) got all sorts of stuff done including new coils into the Safari, The new coils are a 50mm lift but the old ones were that shot she jumped up 150mm , Then I put my 33's on it looks good now
Changed all the fluids and gave the radiator a goood soak and clean
Went out to some friends farm this afternoon had a picnic on the farm and did some driving in some of there play spots. Got to get the PTO winch out in anger and discovered that its never been used, once the first layer of cable was off it was very clean, shiny and covered in factory grease. Went well for the first 5m and then bound up inside and did a shear pin, goin to pull it apart this week. I think that the grease ect from 1991 may have gone hard and nasty
