22-23 Sept 2012
Not really the weekend, but had productive few days working on the Jeep XJ. FINALLY got the u-joints in front driveshaft replaced....nice and quiet now. Also fixed up a few clear coat issues on the roof and replaced the head lining fabric which was p***ing me off.
As for the actual weekend...i'll be working making up for the slacking off during the week doing this stuff.

Re: 22-23 Sept 2012
so didn't do all this just this weekend but i finished it off today.
replaced all seals and bearings in the front diff, axle and hubs, fitted front lock right locker and set up diff. pulled off pto winch which has been siezed since i bought the truck and replaced all seals and bearings, re-attached pto selector cable to gearbox, timed up the old injector pump (now it doesn't knock when i rev past 2000rpm). and finally mowed the lawn, we havn't had a dry weekend in over a month so was getting like a jungle

Re: 22-23 Sept 2012
spontaniously went up mamakus last night, went through a few track and very impressed with the 37" tyres. didn't rub nerly as much as i thought and no marks on tahs, got to use the pto winch 3 times too, was HEAPS of fun as i have never actually used a winch before. things are very powerful, got stuck in some... interesting places...
Re: 22-23 Sept 2012
The sun was out so washed the truck.....it was covered in Street grime, really dirty stuff, had to use a whole bucket of hot soapy stuff, nearly called for help at one stage cause I got my sponge stuck in the gap between the tray and the cab, but nicely recovered it with the left hand while the right held on.......all finished and back inside now safe and warm......

Re: 22-23 Sept 2012
Gave my bro all the alloy welding bits to do for water air intercooler, took the mighty playdoh for a spin to the shops and back. Managed to scare a backwards cap wearing scrote who after sitting on my rear bumper hassling to past me (I was doing 60 in a 50 already, naughty naughty). When he decided to squirt pass me at a point in the road which would have cut me off on his return to the proper side of the road (island coming up), so as he got upto my rear quarter I gave it the welly, threw out a huge puff of diesel smoke and took off.... He didn't get past me..... And filled his car with diesel fumes After that he hung wayyyyyy back as we continued along at a sedate 50......
Cheers Calvin

Re: 22-23 Sept 2012
went out to the ashley river, ended up towing out some guys that had broken their front hubs.
decided that my 31 a/t's are nowhere near good enough, also found out that my turfer was a worth while investment as we used it about 5 times.

Was good to meet you guys Zooker & Jay. Sorry I had to pike early and lucky we did as the wife and eldest took a turn for the worst and we had to stop a few times on the way back as they couldnt hold anything down.
Pics from the weekend. Was a good day until about 15min in haha as usual the bighorn lived upto expectations of something going wrong and died half way through a bog (No water in the intake either). lucky she got going again but it left me with a "Check Engine" light and a funny clutch...again. On the last pic where the Terrano is stuck I made it through but once out there was no clutch pedal so need to have a closer look at that at somestage before she get the $1 reserve on TM.
Pics and vids that the wife took are below.

Re: 22-23 Sept 2012
Not exactly the weekend but I did think about it
Pulled the rear trailing arms out to replace the bushes today.
The bush on the fwd side of the axle housing rubber has torn out.
The rear looks ok but will change them as a pair....
The old ones were the Mountshop Nissan ones, flexible but have only lasted 18 months or so, compared to 8 years on toyota originals being off road'ed before that they were road driven

So good to finally have a matching green bonnet too.
Just a little Sunday drive in the LJs over Old Mountain Rd, went for a look up Vandy Rd, and checked out some more interesting roads curtesy of WAMS.
Wombat with yet another bitser experimental motor (parts off 3 different engines) hums along nicely at 75k's. Finally built a good motor I think
More poser pic's UBZ

Cant have gone very far down vandy road. the land owner up that end had blown chunks out of the track last time i went. and at the other end of the track on makomako, its all slips. used to be a sweet track back in the day.
