Went and picked up T3 today. Has a WOF until Jan, good tires (for street biscuits), brand new radiator, sills made from STEEL, and best of all 14,200k's of RUC left. It was suppose to have a noisy gearbox but it only slightly whines. Should last for months like that
Now I have a whole truck in reserve :P

Off on Woodhill patrol on Sunday should be interesting as I don't have my winch bar or winch on, I will be taking it easy as usual and keep away from the winching parts.
Hopefully get some new items turning up for the truck soon.

Went for a trip up Muriwai. Lot of fallen trees everywhere and counted 7 cars buried in the sand before Wilsons Road. Guess the storm has moved some serious sand.

Well its been a quiet one thus far, only 4wd stuff is chatting on the various forums... And only touched the truck to squeeze past it in the garage.
However its the wife's Birthday today, so best to stay indoors and close to her... Need to save up some brownie points for later :D
But I did get a phone call from the Bro... My radiator welding is done for the water air intercooler, pickup next weekend....

rather eventfull couple of days on safety patrol up woodhill.yesterday started off with a couple of the guys breaking their trucks very early on in the day so only 2 of us left to patrol, all good wasnt that busy up there only had a couple of easy snatches and an interesting recovery up coopers canyon, had to drive up from the bottom to reach the stuck truck, not to bad only had to winch them a meter or so out of a hole and off a bank, then i had to reverse back down  not recomended!caught up with the guys after some running repairs to their trucks and had a good day.today back up on patrol again and guess what?yep one of the guys broke his truck straight away :( so only 2 of us left to patrol, did a few recoverys involving trucks on road tyres at road pressure with no recovery points  grrr.i am amazed at how many people try and get me to use their tow ball to recover them!fark that dumb asses.so at the end of the day a certain individual i shall call"mr plonker"decides he will go into the mud area next to the car park(on road tyres, road pressure with no recovery points    and get stuck at the entrance to a rather big bog  no recovery points on rear to pull him backwards(had a farkin tow ball though, clown,so long story short i had to winch him from his pissass tie down point on the front all the way through bog with him on a leen looking a bit tippy, with lots of swearing and cursing from me!oh did i mention he was not keen to get in the mud to help hook up winch to HIS TRUCK and how he got his misses to get in the drivers seat while he stood outside his truck with his head up his ass. so in the end i was covered head to toe in mud and truck covered inside and out.thanks mr plonker.but yeah big thanks to drruben for helping and putting up with me swearing and cursing  oh well the joys of being on safety patrol, got to go,have some burger king to inhale  have a good one c u

Damn, never had a day like that in Woodhill...
But funny you should say the punters / drivers just watch on while they expect us to do all the work.... Not on my watch..
Had some young guys who rolled a tyre off a rim, no spare... They thought it was a great joke.... Expected us to fix them all up....(Attitude) So we made him do all the work, just provided the tools... It was the middle of winter, fecking freezing and raining hard.. He had only T shirt and shorts and no shoes...
A few month later a similar clown was all diffed out in the middle of a mud bog up by track 20... And expect me to wade in to hitch him up....Like waist level Ahhh nope....get out and get dirty or you stay there....
Don't mind getting all dirty if I stuff up or a mate needs help....

Got the front half of my lift installed
Upper & lower control arms, springs and shocks
Image

The track bar tie rod just wouldn't budge... :(
To get the original trackbar in (all of 15mm), i had to winch to the left off the falcon... she just wouldn't move enough with the tools at hand.
(without measuring, the axle is out by about 10mm

Probably good timing as i found out today, that the company i got it from had a batch of rods bent wrong and they hit the diff... :(
Will be talking to them on Tuesday.

If the weather is $hit tomorrow, i will try the rear half...

Fingers crossed...

I decided that after the other weekends Central NI cruise the front of the 130 was in need of pimping up. So I got my a into g and finally tidied up & fitted the winch bar that's been sitting in the corner of the shed for a couple of years, fair bit of rust needed dealing to & so cleaned the whole thing up & gave it a couple of coats of Hammerite. Then realised that you really can't have a winch bar without a winch on it so dragged out the X9 that's been waiting to go on a truck for 7yrs!!!! Tidied that up and fitted it, also added a in cab controller and a cut-out switch so it can't be accidentally activated!!!

How it started out

And now
