Finally got the winch back in the bar, looking real nice just needs to go to the auto lekky to get wired up. Also had a look at the Delahuntys Bundy, real nice guy.

Finally got some offroading on the new beast, Wiring drain sorted, but I have overheating problems, likely related to headgasket... Ugh, more work to do.

That "Boat Anchor" did happen to have broken front left cv and flat rear tyre, may have added to its mass..

To be honest the boat anchor was my favourite truck... having owned one for nearly ten years.... Miss her dearly! anyway.... is this your truck? I don't actually have many photos of 'colour' trucks they were more all of the mud colour!
If anyone is keen on photos.... there were 4-5 of us from the Southland Photographic Society.... there was probably 1500-2000 photos taken I would say.... I took 400 odd myself! get in contact with the club via the website....
Re: 10 - 11 November

Spent most of the weekend getting the truck ready for westport this coming weekend, put new bearings through the front and rear diffs, replaced a front wheel bearing and put a swivel hub kit through the front aswell, fitted rated tow hooks, put a replacement driveshaft on front as my old one was stuffed.
Only got a few small things left on my list now, including a winch rope dampner which i need to purchase this week

Heard so much about the Hood aerodrome, I will get there one day and great photos, love those old bi planes, once saw one flying backwards. Head wind was so strong, full throttle and still went backwards
Re: 10 - 11 November
Saturday; WOF day for daily driver car and trailer. Called around to pick up my DTI gauge from kbushnz.
Sunday; packed up a TD27 turbo manifold and stashed it in the missus' suit case for a quick trip over the Tasman to be posted to a fulla in Queensland
Dropped her at the airport and had an invite to go to Woodhill and jumped at the chance. Who do I meet up with there.....kbushnz Could of got my DTI off him then
Took all the guess work out of which CV was clattering......it would be the one that shat itself half an hour into the day. Woodhill more fun with 2wd in the dry so no great hassle. Had couple of trucks following me and they still found it quite a challenge even though they still had 4wd
Didn't get to my list of things to do, like EGR blanking plates and finish andy3542's solenoid pack....sorry boys.
Cheers,

Camped overnight at Waiohine Gorge. Squeezed the 80 down some very overgrown logging tracks while collecting firewood.

Went for a cruise down to Manfield to help out with some racing, then headed out to the West Coast for an adventure
Arrived out at the coast late saturday afternoon, found a likely looking track up over the dunes, so dropped the tyre pressures and pushed through the dunes out onto the beach for a quick drive. Wished I had the rod on the truck!!! We found a nice sheltered place out of the wind, set up camp and watched the sun set.
Sunday the weather was a bit average, but I did remember to take some pic's. Even in the weather it was still awesome!!!!
Headed back off the beach and found an interesting track that followed the river down to the sea. Heaps of white bait stands!!!
We could see tracks on the other side of the river. It was quite a drive up river to the nearest bridge, but had to be done
We stumbled accross the ferry that used to cross the river in 1857 not far from were the above pic's were taken. Would have saved a hours driving
We found the tracks we had seen on the other side of the river. A pretty special place, wished I had way more time to explore!!!
We found the point directly opposite where we had parked in the the earlier pics:
Then found our way out onto the wild looking beach for a quick spin.
Further up the beach, I saw marked on the map the position of the ship wreck Fusilier 1884. That's a spot to try and visit for next time!!!

Re: 10 - 11 November
you can get to the fuselier wreck more or less on open forestry road 'fuselier road' as well.
I didn't see the shipwreck when we went for a cruise there the other day... went just past the bombing range, though . Shot in through the bush to the end of fuselier road but didn't hang around/look for it as it was after dark and we weern't sure if they'd shut the road gate at night (sign says they may do) so had to gap it
