Bloody Disco

Postby Landroverdarren » Sat Jan 12, 2013 8:27 am

Weekend 4/5 January.
Purchased Disco to tow my beast & to use with the family for the summer.
Loaded up incl trailer to head to Taupo. Didn't make it - of course!!!!!. Blew bottom radiator hose on the Desert Rd, bugger. Wife wasn't very impressed let alone the tow bill to take us all to Taupo.
Kind guys @ Mamaku 4WD sent me a new hose - good price too.
Fitted new house & carried on with trip. Turns out head gasket is blown.
Vehicle now resting !!!! @ Mamaku 4WD.

Marcel is very good and well soon have it sorted for you.
I would also suggest getting the radiator checked for flow and pressure. After heating up the dirt in the radiator gets stirred up and blocks the cores.

Hopefully then your Land Rover experiences can only be a good.

I agree he's a great guy.
He's was also going to replace radiator as the front of it is rotten.
Disco not worth much so going to sell it as is. Going to ask him to put Radiator back so vehicle will be mobile.
Will save some $$$$ & upgrade to a newer model.

It's a blue 94 V8. I've just put in new driving lights, JVC Bluetooth head unit & new coils all round. It runs well & is tidy. Marcel's had a good look over it & has given his thumbs up. He's estimated $1500 for a new radiator & replace blown head gasket. Tyres are pretty new too. Otherwise all good.
Open to offers. Feel free to call him 07 3325630.
