Waitangi Day. What ya get up to ?

So its not the weekend, but who cares its a day off in the middle of the week, bloody awesome if ya ask me.

So what did everyone get up to today.

I had a bloody good sleep in and then trundled up to Rallywoods after lunch to suss out a few tracks for the 2013 Kiwi Challenge.

Then we had a Kiwi 4x4 Club meeting and started to head out when Reece had to park up his trailer due to wheels trying to fall off, so I shot down to Grahams house who is one of the shareholders to see if we could leave the trailer and truck there, only to find him standing there wondering how to get his little pickup back onto the track after nearly sliding off it, so I winched him back to safety then we dumped the Gremlin and trailer off Reeces tow wagon and headed out, only to see flashing lights on cop cars and accident signs out on the Haywards Hill Road. Imagine our suprise to see Mark O with a sad looking safari minus a left front wheel and resting on the barrier. 3 Cop cars and 4 cops doing traffic duty on the busy road whilst we quickly dragged it off the barrier and jacked it up and threw the wheel back on with only 2 nuts not quite holding so he could crawl down the road 300m to a safe parking area. Quite an eventful evening really.

I sat in the hospital waiting for my son to arive. lazy little bugger is aparantly comfy as where he is, 9 days overdue now

spent the rest of the arvo at deep creek brews enjoying some hand crafted beer, some of my mates famisly good ribs and enjoying some of the local talent passing by. not bad

put new speakers in my front doors, replaced my passenger door lock that someone thought their screw driver could open it. Also replaced my power steering pump. Truck driving way better, still not quiet there yet but not much more to replace

Cleaned the pool then took the roof off the Jeep for a cruise around, probably the 3rd time i've taken it off in the 18 months ive had it! Need to do it more often as lots of fun. The custom half doors are choice too

Put a water temp gauge in the surf, im very surprised at how unreliable the factory unit is, now just gotta find a nice gauge holder to secure it, currently jammed against the window l

Grenaded a cheap Milemarker hub on the Terry.
Well I guess the weakest link/fuse plan is working well, CVs happy as Larry

Went to work...
But collected my center console from the paint dept after I repaired the cracks and filled in the hole where the rear heater controls and grille were...
And then when home a fellow internet 4 wheeler came thru (from ih8mud) to look at the playdoh....
Hes thinking about using the mitsi 4M40 pump in his 1KZ
