What sort of work are getting done?
Toyota Landcruiser FJ40, front and rear lockers, 35" simex.
Toyota FJ45 build in progress.
Tires are like boobs, they always look big until you have played with them for a while, then you just want a bigger set.

Re: Peter Munroe's opinions
seein as they are the ARB guys, i got them to install my lockers and new pinions, replace all inners of nuggets like bearings etc..
so yeah, found them good to deal with.. little on the high side price wise maybe, but they know they're stuff... stand by their work etc..
so in short, good.

Rick at 4WD Accessories does snorkels in his sleep. They do one a week easy.
And his hourly rate is fair. I'd get a quote from both if I were you.
But Rick looks after me. In Chch, I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I had my ARB lockers front n back installed at Ricks nibs. Can't complain. And they weren't on the high side to get installed.

Re: Peter Munroe's opinions
Who ever you get to do it, check it thoroughly for leaks afterward. Best way is to take air ram hat off and hold something over the inlet and starve the engine of air and make it stall.
I have heard of more than one person drowning an engine after a snorkel install has gone wrong with out the owners knowledge.

Ugly is a state of mind..... and the state of my truck!

Slack ass!
Although if you haven't done one before it is easy to spend a full day dicking around with it and then you can get it wrong and stuff it all up.
Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level then beat you with experiance!

What type of playdoh?

Re: Peter Munroe's opinions
about 3 hrs is the average safari snorkel quoted fitting time that gets quoted, sometimes less, sometimes more depending on each install.....
lets not forget business are there to make money, 3 hours for a snorkel is way better than the 10 hours i got charged to remove and refit a turbo.....

Re: Peter Munroe's opinions
Quick update.. $1200+ later and got my truck back today with a whole heap of new stuff..But when i got it home it was leaking antifreeze...Gave Rick a ring and he came over straight away..Rekons the Antifreeze might have taken care of some rust in a hole in the radiator..(as it didnt have much to start with)So back it goes ..Happy with the work though!!
