Sent out a question on the Falken Tyres NZ website asking for a quote on some new rubber.... they come back to me telling me they don't supply those Falken tyres! Not stoked

Turns out Falken Tyres NZ website just sends you through to Tyres 4U, however, I'd have expected the NZ distributor to at least be able to supply the tyres they have as their homepage background on their NZ webpage!!!!

Update: Asked them whether them being Falken NZ whether they could import the Falken tyres I'm after I got this:

"Japan has responded and advise that they will not make that tyre available to the New Zealand market at this time.

If they decide to change that in the near future we will let you know."

I mean seriously, they have the Wildpeak MT as their website homepage background, yet are unable to get those tyres, yes the ones that are the one brand 'Falken Tyres NZ 'import to me so I can run them. Not particularly stoked

I hadn't.... don't know if they do or not. However I'd have thought you wouldn't have them advertised on your homepage. I dunno

Sorry guys, yea a wee bit frustrated.... I'm after a 295/70/17 and they seem like a really good tyre.... what everyone overseas has to say about them is great. A shame we can't have them over here too. The only 295 in NZ at all is a Lexani (I think) which looks to be another new no name brand (just assuming here). Will try see if there's another way of getting these tyres in

Yep, fairly similar. 285/70/17 is as close as I can find however I wouldn't mind the extra....

Yea the Terra and Trail Grapplers are both available overseas in the 295. I have emailed Falken back again asking why they aren't bringing the Wildpeak MT in... if its like Leigh suggested and is because they don't meet regulations then I'll flag trying for Falkens and look into the Trail Grapplers (the Terra Grapplers don't seem to be the best from what I've read and the gen 2 ones are a fair load pricier). The Trail Grapplers are quite expensive compared with Falkens overseas so was hoping that difference would be reflected back here... also the Falkens seem to get very good on road wear as well... something that I'm taking into consideration for this purchase as hopefully I'll use them as East Coast tyres (for the braided riverbeds etc. we get in Canterbury) as well as tyres to run around on, so that I can chuck on the 'serious' set for comps. and West Coast trips.

Haven't really looked into 305s... definitely starting to get quite a bit past an 11.5" wide tyre but for road, pea gravel and rocks it shouldn't be a biggy... will look into that now.
