Hello,
I have just joined after struggling for a while to actually register till I got helped out by Mike in the end.
I have a 92 GQ 60 Patrol with an after market turboed TD42.
I mainly use it for getting on and off west coast beaches with my Kontiki but am also keen to drive it elsewhere when the occasion arises.
I don't get home to NZ as much as I would like at the moment but there is light at the end of the tunnel.
I did my time as a diesel mechanic and then went to sea I am currently a Chief Engineer looking after the construction of a new ship in Europe.
Cheers

Re: New Member Intro
Welcome aboard BGOSNZ,
I had four years at sea doing voluntary work in the South Pacific.
Got my Engineers watch-keepers ticket during that time.
Hope the new build goes well so you can that kontiki out.
regards Paul.

Hi,
Thanks for the welcome.
This job is more about politics than engineering sometimes, might be good for a new career when this is done and I return home for more than a flying visit.
Cheers

Yeah, I remember getting through the Panama Canal quicker if the pilot was supplied with a bottle of his favorite fire water...
