love the forums and been having a search through and still kinda keen for this wagon
2000 Pajero did 3.2l gls 250km yay or ney

Would you buy this wagon with this story
Apparently NZ family owned the pajero for about 6 years but the fuel pump went on it and the mechanic brought it off them and replaced the fuel pump was about a 4k job and is looking to sell it on. Not entirely sure on the service history but if I go ahead will look into so for the story assume the service history is good.

Looking to use it to get around red rocks for spearfishing with a couple of mates and as the 2nd car so not that keen on a swb hard riding 4wd plus wife needs to be comfortable on the odd road trip otherwise........

What's peoples thoughts?

4 k for a fuel pump....better be made to feed a topfuel drag racer for that price, I know it's probably a GDI pump but still you could get a pretty mean 6A13TT in between those chassi rails for that price...

My company vehicle is a 3.2 DID Triton ute, so very similar to a Paj.

It has done 290,000 and still drives really well & pulls like a schoolboy.

Apparently the fuel pumps are moon money, so $4k could be right!

I would buy one for myself :)
Its better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

It's a diesel dude.....

Fuel pumps seem to be dear on them. But 250k is a pee in the sea for these motors. But perhaps replace the timing chain and guide when you buy it if it hasn't been done.
SWB V6 Paj with one or two mods ;)

Thanks folks

Going to get a AA check on it. Is there check list for nubs like me can look for with a 4wd? Had a look at the fluids all clear etc no white in the oil. Have no idea how to actually check the suspension and 4wdness. Thank you for your experience :D 8)

Dude 4k for a pump is not bad , there is only 1 place in ausy that do them or 6 or 8k new , they are obsolete for parts ,
Timing chain upper guides crap out around those ks , inlets are prone for carboning as per anything with egr , other than that they are a pretty good truck really !

Cheers

We looked at getting one 2-3years ago with a faulty diesel pump. It was going to be 6k to get it rebuild. A new one was just under $11k, but as they were obsolete couldn't get them anymore.
