Defender do up

Postby jt110 » Mon Jun 01, 2015 10:47 pm

Hi I've inherited a 1990 defender twin cab from my old man he used to 4x4 it in the 90's. It's pretty rough now having spent a lot of years parked up and is far from road worthy. It has a trusty Land cruiser 1PZ engine so I'm pretty excited about getting her back out there. It needs serious work on steering and gearbox, new exhaust system and a few cosmetic parts.
Anyone know a good parts dealer for old Landys?

Would be great to hear other Landy do up stories
Cheers

Hey man, sounds like a good project!!!

I reckon the best place to get parts from in NZ is:

www.LandroverSpares.co.nz

They carry a good range is stock, and if they don't have it, it's in on the next shipment from the UK.

Everything on a LR is DIY, it's one big maccano set  If I were you I would click on DieselBoys user name and trawl through his LR threads for ideas. You'll be there till the cows come home.

Welcome JT110 to Land Rover ownership. Where abouts are you located?

The snorkel might be interesting with a different engine. Where is the airbox currently?
