hey all just wondering what people use on their 80 series as rear recovery and towing??
i have just had a hitch receiver made up and bolted into the four holes on the back with 8.8 high tensile bolts, is this sufficient enough?

Personnally i woild not use use that at all even for towing.
The leverage will be huge on the lower bolts and the captive nuts are not that strong

Tieing it in with draw bar awesome idea.
No idea on pintal hooks connected straight to those bolts. Ive seen the complete mount bend on better designs that youve shown and that was with the hook balanced between all 4 bolts

Had a pintle towball thingy on my 80 for years

Towed all sorts of heavy stuff around including out of a forest via 4wd tracks

Never had an issue apart from the fact that it sits too high.

You have to decide how much towing vs wheeling you are going to do.

I eventually removed mine and installed a factory towbar / hitch set up but am now wishing I had left the pintle on as I hardly use it for anything these days let alone towing and my garden trailer is as high as the pintle towball :-/
