diff breathers

just wondering what others do to keep water out of their diff breather hoses. got to do something about mine so looking for ideas

Just extended mine to up onto the fire wall....

Could positive pressure them using the breather as the line in then would keep dust and water out. Dont know how much pressure u should or could use but something quite low would still keep water n dust out.

rear axle can go up into rear pillar and front axle, gearbox & transfer one can go to top of fire wall or if you are worried go inside.

How deep water are you thinking of going through?

in saying this I'm thinking of using an air horn pump to pressurise my diffs, dizzy and winch motor/gearbox
obviously there will be some deep holes to play in once thompsons gets cleared this summer

I'd say that will create too much pressure and possibly blow seals in your diff, most guys that run a positive air system for diffs etc. only run about 3-4 pounds, and use something like a 12 volt airbed pump.

concur was going to regulate the pressure with an orifice on an exhaust,
with a couple fuel filters to stop oil backing up from the diffs.
with a relatively open system and a regulated exhaust 4psi is easily achievable whilst not loading up the pump and making it get hot.

Air bed pump is the way to go. You need high volume and low pressure. An air horn pump will not provide the volume you require (unless you are planning on letting it run the whole time you are out).
I just flick the switch before dunking and switch off afterwards, and the airbed pump does not need regulating (well I don't bother anyway) as the pressure is low enough.
