Panel beating tools

Can anyone reccomend a good panel beating tool set? I don't want to spend a arm and a leg and don't want to buy crap ether. What are you guys using?

You really do get what you pay for when it comes to panel beating kits but you don't need a whole kit of the good gear for most jobs. I've got one of the cheap kits, a whole lot of dollys I've made for various jobs and a just couple of decent quality hammers that I got seperately... I'd say buy a decent quality ball pein hammer and round head/ cross pein bumping hammer and a cheapie kit and don't be afraid to modify the bits from the kit to suit the job at hand. As you get on you'll figure out what tools you use often enough to be worth spending decent money on.

Cheers any brands in paticular that or reccomend? Or to stay away from? As I'm am a novice and arnt aware what hammer is quality and what isnt

Hey mate. Google sulco tools here in nz. They have sets available. Or if ha real handy you can make slappers and dollys out of leaf springs I Made a couple of slapplers but it did take a while

The cheapo kits tend to cost between $50 - $70 for a kit containing the three most commonly used hammers and dollys and are sold through shops like Super Cheap Auto, Repco etc.
A reasonable quality set containing the same tools will sell for $200 - $250 through a specialist tool shop or body shop like Total Bodyshop Supplies.
If you want to go nuts you can spend $200 on one "made in the USA" dolly that your great-grandchildren will inherit.
Are you just wanting some tools to bash your four wheeler back into shape or are you starting out in the trade?
