Do the cheap ones on tardme work?
Will they take underseal off wheel arch?
Has anyone used one at home or am is it a waste of time
Any help be appreciated

need a decent compressor as they use alot of air, you will be picking sand out of everything in the garage for the next 3 weeks, not including your ears eyes mouth and other unmentionables, they do work but make one hell of a mess, you can control with drop cloths etc to limit the blow back. this is the one that has the nozzle only, i guess the ones with the brush around the blast area would be a touch cleaner to use

Making up a booth with tarps may keep the worst of it in
I mite get a wire wheel on to the rust first see if that will do the job

Your going to need a really grunty commercial one too peal underseal and even then it will be slow way faster with a scrapper and wire brush

Personally I wouldn't sandblast inside there is the mess but also you want fresh air to take the dust away and wear dust masks... I know this sounds a bit over kill but if your using sand the dust can get into your lungs and do the same thing asbestos does!

I haven't used the little gravity feed ones... I imagine it would be a slow process as that little sand tank would drain quickly.... I have used both blast pots and ventury ones, with the small single phase (3hp or less) compressors you will have issues from moisture blocking things, if your cheap like me and recycle your sand it gets worse.... the blast pots work a bit better as normally to unblock all you need to do is turn a couple of taps to reverse the air flow into the tank through the sand pick up and it blows out the blockage
