Hampidjan in timaru for factory made overbraid Dynex Dux

its super expensive shit but you get about 10 times the life out of it compared to other brands

Dynex Dux is very good rope.
I'm not convinced about the benefit of overbraid though.
I used it on one of my ropes, good : rope stays the same size, dosen't swell, keeps the dirt out. Bad: the overbraid makes the rope very stiff, harder to use, will eventually fray, makes it very difficult to join by splicing.

^^^ theres pro's and cons with everything and overbraid does tend to cut down through the layers on the drum under load often making unspooling difficult as opposed to standard dyneema that tends to pull down flatter and layer better but that overbraid shit outlasts its circumcised cousin by a long shot if you want good longevity :D

I would have gone the other way, I run overbraid because it stopped the rope binding onto itself on the drum? Standard Amsteel would bind up so tight that we would have to tie it to a tree and winch it off the drum.
This is only with amsteel though, I know some of the other brands were a bit stiffer and didnt get this problem.
