Diff Breathers - What to buy and where?

Postby stealth » Wed Sep 28, 2016 9:22 am

Hi Guys,

Have hori'd up some temporary breathers using some poor quality hose I had lying around for a trip but what to make a more permanent fixture, I have seen a small blue type hose used but have no idea what it is or where to get it from, so what have you used or know works?

Thanks

you can get an assortment of pneumatic fitting from most engineering supply places and roll you own.

Debated starting a new thread, but decided my query was close enough. Should breathers be brought all into one manifold or not? I've seen kits that run all the breathers to a manifold which then runs one line up to the dirty side of the airbox but I've also heard that the change in pressure of one breather can mess with other lines etc. not too sure on the full extent of supposed issues tho. I'd be looking at running breather from both diffs, gearbox and transfer case of my Zook, and maybe some from the engine. Thanks

I've always run everything in together.

Thanks, good to know. I figured that if so many manufacturers sold them running all together then they must work fine, but then for people to go to the effort to run all separate lines maybe there is some truth to their story. Thanks

Other opinions????

In the Prado I had an airbed pump and large 1/2" hoses to keep the water out of the engine, diffs etc. In the cruiser I used clear fuel hose
