Bulk Buy 9500lb Winches for list members - $695ish!

Postby Guest » Sat Dec 11, 2004 4:40 pm

Hi all - who would be interested in buying a 9500lb winch for around $695 to your door? I have some contacts in China, and can get them at around that price but I would have to buy at least 10, preferably 20. I can get smaller sizes as well, but the weight is not that much less, and the motor power is considerably less, so this seems to be the one to go for - although there is a 12000lb model for about $100 more.

Please register interest by contacting me on winch@4wdstuff.co.nz and I will keep people informed how things are going.

Post any questions you have about them here, and I will endeavour to answer them as best I can...

regards

Steve

I have sent an email away to check. The pricing I have been given is all based on 12V models. I'll let you know as soon as I hear.

cheers

ok, looks like 12V only at this stage, so you may want to investigate if you can run them off one battery independantly of the main electrical system in your truck...

any idea on the quality?

how much for the shipping to Wanaka?

How much do they weigh? (Was thinking of making my winch removable front to back)

This is a pic of the 9500lb one. I can't give a definite on the quality... and probably wouldn't go using it on a trek across the sahara or in a winch challenge, but for normal winching operations I believe it will last well and operate much as any other winch will.

I can supply Warn winches too, if anyone is after a name brand, but they will be at least $1000 more than these ones...

Oh, I'm working on a to-the-door price, so I've built $25 or so into it to cover shipping - and I'm spreading that cost over the whole number... so if you are in chch where I am, sorry - I don't want to deal with different prices for different areas - its a team effort to get them here so we all pay the same price.

Heres the specs I got sent including weight etc...

Performance: 12VDC
Rated line pull: 9500lb (4300kgs)
Braking Action: Automatic In-The-Drum
Weight: 84 lbs (38kg)
G.W: 94 lbs (42.5kg)
Meas: 61 x 19.5 x 48.5cm(1pc)

Oh, and heres the 12000lb model for those interested - I think this is the one I'd go for based on pulling power, price and weight...

Image

Performance: 12VDC
Rated line pull: 12000lb (5440kg)
Motor5.5hp/4.0kw: Series Wound
Control Remote switch: 12ft(3.7m)lead

Wire rope (LxD): 94'*3/8' (28m*9.5mm)

Not that I am aware of, they only do electric... and to keep it simple I am only doing either the 9500 or 12000... these guys don't like to be jerked around and they normally only ship 20- or 40-foot containers which would mean buying about a zillion of them at a time... so I'm not going to push the boundaries...

Just an update, I am currently waiting on the Chinese connection to organise freight - I will probably only be bringing in 12000lb winches as the weight and specs are virtually identical.

I'll keep you all posted when I get to money time :) As I think I mentioned, I dont have a spare $7-$8000 to bring these in, so I'll need to round up the cash beforehand to get them sent... although the price is 'to-the-door' so freight once they arrive won't be any extra.
