TD42 engine mounts

Postby tgaguy1 » Thu Oct 23, 2014 4:09 pm

I have searched and turned up very little. Where is the best place to buy new TD42 engine mounts? For a 1990 so will be two bolt.
Thanks in advance.

The Mount Shop. Not sure if there is a branch near you.

Cheers

What monstr said, either through the parent website in Aust or trademe.
http://www.trademe.co.nz/stores/onlineautoparts
Their prices are pretty damn good...have been meaning to replace mine as well just for the sake of it.

You will probably work it out but the OZ onlineautoparts gives prices in Aust $, on trademe it's in kiwi $.

I got BNT to get them in for me overnight. Cant remember exact price but they gave me "mates rates" and was not much more than Trade Me prices. And was easy to take them back and get them swapped when I got the wrong one (2/4 bolt)

Superior engineering make heavy duty engine mounts @ around $240 a pair, you will never break them and they use radius arm bush as the rubber so if they wear you can rebush them :D

Yes but do some homework before you spend more than is necessary, my mounts have been in since 1991 - new OEM mounts
and I should get another 20yrs. Plus the heavy duty mounts that are being made (not just by Superior) are so solid that there have been issues
reported with vibrations.

If in doubt google TD42 engine mounts patrol4x4

I think it depends on what you use your truck for,off road or daily driver.I've been through 3 sets of engine mounts over the last few years ;have also seen both mounts let go in a truck following me,sent the fan through the radiator shroud and the top hose.but yeah I wouldn't bother with heavy duty for road truck.

So here is what I found.

One stop auto parts. Wanted $178.00 including delivery for the pair of mounts.
Partzonline.co.nz want $82.00 each mount and 5 working days delivery time.
The mount shop refused my registration to log on to their web site so I could see what they wanted for the pair. They were unable to confirm who I am, whatever that means... they lost a potential sale.
Ended up buying from On line auto parts via their trademe auction. $76.66nzd including shipping. Arrived this morning. So that's five days including labour day..
Very impressed with their service. Sent me tracking info very quickly. And no one comes close to the price. Quality looks good, but I guess time will tell.
Hope this info helps someone in the future. I shows it pays to shop around.

Cheers
