to insert photos you 1st need an account with a site such as photobucket

you the upload the photos on to it and

some sites will have a thing under the pict saying
[IMG]http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16............. just an example

you copy and past that onto the page and presto you have uploaded an image

it needs to have that [IMG] bit in front of it or it wont work

i would highly suggest using http://photobucket.com/ as it is the most simple to use

tack welded angle to the body and used a silacan glue that is made by simmons to stick panels on and seal around edges.
will be painting inside of deck with rino deck liner to help seal as well. still have a small leak somewhere but will find it.

sorry but the photos put me in a shed and i at home and can do most things but on a computer i realy sux. will try find someone to help me with photos as it should be good.

Will you use the same transmission and transfer case? I don't think the stock transmission and transfer case can handle the power and torque of your V8. :)

as at start i said v6 with auto trans.
the one that is in there prob would handle it if i wanter anyway. people do this mod with hiluxs and use hilux box and the rugger has more power than they do standerd

My mistake. I sometimes confuse the rugger with a Feroza. :)
Good luck and keep us posted.

I regret to inform you that your not allowed to do this mod as I wanted to do it first and started before you. I am some what at a dissadvantage as you seem to have a shed n I dont. summer is here tho so things will start to progress.

I am mounting the rugger body on a prado coil suspension chassis. Puting a VN manual V6 to a prado 5speed. Locker in the back. hopefully a pto winch. She pretty much all mounted up, but a long way to go. Have sold 2 rugger gearboxs and believe they are weak so good thing your not going to use it. Keeping mine a wagon with a summer ute option as I prefer to have a dry storage area.

sounds sweet like that then, id like to do what the above guy is doing but with a lexus or the 1kzte 3l deisel and onto the rugger chasis with a feroza cut into a single cab, probly would coil it and throw it on 80seris difs, very long term project lol

I was just joking with you, as in I wanted to be the only one to have a V6 rugger. Im not trying to keep mine road legal, as I trailer it to save my mud tyres. Hlux diffs are the way to go, suggest you change the chassis spring mounts to match the hilux springs as they should be longer springs which will give better flex.. prviously did a SOA on rugger wasnt really happy with it. SOA turns in to about a 5-6 inch lift which for a narrow vehicle is a long way up. plus the misses needed a ladder

lexus are a wide engine. ruggers are narrow engine bay. anything is possible tho. lexus engine are cheap but cost a fair bit to electricly sort out once in there. manual be tricky to. commodore v6 cheap easy to do and the next step would be a supercharged v6 engine which will be easy once a v6 has been in there. 80 serries diffs are heavy and expensive.

wouldnt go changing the mounts would just make longer hangers, the problem with the hilux springs is that the centers are in the wrong places for the wheel arches, had that problem with mine,

but if you do use hilux springs then just make longer hangers as gives better down travel as with the longer hangers the sit at more of an angle which is where you get the travel

the pic kind of give an idea of how much flex with hilux springs (rears) and 3inch over standard hangers
Image

yeh im really thinking of going with the 1kzte and auto more than anything as i like the drivability of the auto, im thinking 80seris as they are alot stronger than the hilux and will suit my application much better

think i will stay with rugger springs and longer shackles and soa with hilux axles even though it will lift me 3'' on a narrow truck it will have a wider wheel base so should b all good. i have keeped motor lower than the stanard aswell to keep weight low.

as 4 you pruggerdore lol all good i was thinkin the same when i started mine but if yours is only off road that not so bad means less people will c it. lol
all i can say at this point to anyone thinkin bout doing this work to one of these is that it not as easy as doing it to a hilux. at mo i got frount axle that going to hit sump real bad and a front driveshaft that going to hit sump on auto trans. the soa should fix this i hope.
