nice truck
Thanks and yes in the Philippines, we drive in the right side of the road.
Re: daihatsu rigs show n tell
Nice rig, wonder if those spacers could be cert'ed for here?? looks like a far better way of gaining a couple of inches rather than wnding up the torsion bars.

nice truck looks like you could do with a lift and some bigger tyres, good base to start from though.

its actually been pretty good offroad, never been hung up, does tend to collect dirt in the front guard thou! Thou i will probably just leave it for general use from now onie, highway, gravel, beach, skifield access roads, moderate tracks etc
I think its probably one of only 2 of these in NZ.
Wouldnt mind another daihatsu for pure offroad. How well do Rockys without the turbo go?

Re: daihatsu rigs show n tell
i think ive seen 1 like it round dunedin a wee while back used to park up on queen street. the non turbed rocky's go all right im running one as a dedicated offroader and its running 33in tyres, bit sluggish on the hills but in all not too bad, if i was to do it again i would get a new set of springs made up instead of going to the hilux springs, once i can afford it im going to coil spring mine.

Mine is a coil springer. It is out of the UK, so has slight differences. Basically appears to be a mix of Rockys and Ruggers..ie has vertical mirrors but bumper rear lights. It also was a 7 seater, thou the bottom seat cushions have been removed.
Has a few UK spec things too like rear fog, immobiliser, alarm, colour coded guards, wood grain panelling, manual FWH.
But a few things are missing, no sunroof or air cond. The TDX is the top range model. Thou there are special addition models you can get with leather seats, air cond, sunroof, mud tyres etc. presumably even drivers airbag and ABS, thou im not 100% sure that was true. They were still selling fourtraks into 2002 and even new in Indonesia into 2006.

Re: daihatsu rigs show n tell
From memory the F300's (Feroza/Rocky) were known as the sporttracks, and the F75's etc (Rocky/Rugger) were known as the Fourtracks, the later UK spec Fourtracks had EFI which gave them more power and economy (which we didn't get with our NZ/Aus/JDM ones, your one should be a F75/F80/F85....
Theres a couple of good Daihatsu forums here
http://www.daihatsu-drivers.co.uk/
http://www.warfs.org/ (the US didn't get the F75 etc)
Factory service manuals can be downloaded from here

70 series prado (KZJ78) and 90 Series Prado (KZJ95)
Re: daihatsu rigs show n tell
after 97 fourtraks had a power reduction so they were euro 2 compliant! Im not sure if mine is one of them or the efi model u mention. gearing certainly seems different too my old rugger.
yeah feroza are called Sportraks over there. Think they stopped selling them about 97-98.
ruggers are fourtraks. The SWB's are called Fieldman's and the LWB is the independent. TDX top of the range and TDL lesser specced.
Its a great wagon, runs really well, handles a dream for what is basically a box! They made a whole lot of limited edition models..Timberland, Riviera etc..some have awesome paint schemes..ie navy blue with chrome grills. All good.
have a look at www.autotrader.co.uk some mean as ones on there!

Re: daihatsu rigs show n tell
Picked this up from Auckland yesterday, $2500 with WOF REG and 5000 k's RUC's. Full service history too. Unfortunately the stickers/badges are telling lies, it's an non-turbo 2.8 diesel, the guy who owned it before me had another one before this, his daughter flopped it going around a roundabout. So he bought this one with a blown motor (rod tried to escape) and put the motor out of the rolled one into it. Goes damn good for an NA diesel, sits on 100k's nicely. Not much planned for it, have a set of 750x16 SAT's for when I go 4WD'ing.
Re: daihatsu rigs show n tell
