Safari tyre choice

Postby 42south » Fri Jan 27, 2012 8:20 pm

Hi guys
Can I get 33x12.5x15s on a standard safari swb, without modifying the guards?
1991 SWB GQY60 TD42 safari.
DTS turbo kit.

i've got a lwb safari and have just done a 3000km trip(incl 4wding) with standard suspension and 33in buckshots with no rub.
I have taken the stupid plastic flares off and put conveyor belt on instead.

So yeh you can fit 33s on a safari without modding the guards

Be careful which 33" tyre you use though. Buckshots are a small 33", which measures under 33", where a BFG is bigger than 33". So if a BFG is used it may have a bit of "rub".
