The white is pieces of paper stuck in the splits in the sidewall. Friend had two of them let go like this within a week or two of each other. I think it was due to having been aired down for off road and the sidewall flexing a lot.
Tyre shop said he had seen it a few times before.
Would agree from what I have seen only good in the mud if you can really get them spinning to clear them.

So have completed another month on the RT03's and won't be getting them again. They have started to wear at an increased rate and are losing bits of tread blocks, I think this is due to the tread blocks over flexing with weight on the back (Loaded boot and trailer). In defence of my driving style I drive a bit nannaish some might say and am quite happy driving my n/a safari
With this flexing they are the driving face prematurely. Off road they have become hopeless and are struggling in places that I have always driven without issues.
The upside is as I have said before the road handling and manners are superb.
In conclusion I will be heading back to my old tried and proven Savero MT's
