Postby hachi_roku » Tue May 06, 2014 8:40 pm

Hey,

Im looking for a new or newish set of 35" simex's for my 80 series, with rims and close to auckland as shipping is a pain in the arse.

Cheers

call tony differ 07 8471601 (speedy lube an tyre, Hamilton)
he cycles them off his winch challenge truck fairly regularly and sold me my last two sets .
our bush truck set are fairly worn and we run without tubes on an 8" rim down to 12psi without issue
and my new set I will run the same
reseating the bead with a bit of ether is on the cards if I ever manage to dislodge one.

or I have some fairly worn 850 sats absolutely hopeless on tarmac but brilliant in the mud on split rims with tubes you could have for $400
they equate to a 34

hell trundle sell them to him but make him do the labour,
its a nice drive to taranaki and if you can't get an 80 out of Auckland and down there and back you shouldn't be strapping simexs on it.
or ain't you both attending the whangamata run put your new ones on the roof/trailer and swap them at the run, take cash go places

Thought you said they were worthless, if yours are worth $400 then mine must be worth double that.

what yours are worth an someone is willing to pay are two separate issues,
I never implied sats are worthless and never will ,
they have there place but are rapidly being outdated by newer more advanced tyres.
availability is an issue especially with the 6 ply 8.5's they're not available new and don't come up often which would leave anyone stuck if say they tore a sidewall or wanted a spare.

ps I think hachi needs to borrow your simexs for the weekend can you shoot down and drop them off?
or he can take my quality sat's I purchased from you on period correct split rims for the weekend if he looks after them.

cheers Jase

Seen those already I think, been making lowball offers to a few people. If they wanted a lesser amount of money then that's the price they would put up...

Buy them new off your mate...they perform best when brand new with sharp edges anyway. Then look for a set of beadlocks or std rims second hand if you need to save money...
IFS all the way...go the mark 1 Pajero!

i dont think ive been making lowball offers mate... hes wanting 1200 for over half worn simexs. as far as im concerned theyre worth less then half the cost of replacement hence the price.

We've already had a discussion about you jumping in on everyones threads making bullshit remarks etc. so as said before, if you have issues pm me. I havent lowballed you for your tyres because i dont want them. so dont get involved.

I agree the prices asked for secondhand simexes are high, but the fact is people are prepared to pay that much for 'the look' so the sellers are just asking market value. When you go to the supermarket do you say "nah I don't want to pay $4 for a bottle of milk I'll give you $2.50"? And the last time we had a discussion on values... I said about $4k for your samurai and I recall it sold for something pretty close to that amount... So nothing personal, just saying if you think the price is too high then look elsewhere or just stump up and buy new ones and sell them for 2/3rds of the cost when they are 1/2 worn like everyone else

Fair enough, but your $4 bottle of milk, is it less then half left? no it isnt, its full. Hence why you cant get away with trying to get it for $2.50 as youve stated. And for the record, my samurai sold for $5800 in the end

Cheers, but ive used them and dont like the way they wear...

At the moment im running on 35x12.5R15 Trepadores as my daily / mud tyres. but im wanting to get a set of 35x11.5 in either 15 or 16 simexs preferably with rims that i can use as dedicated mud tyres. and just wanting the best deal i can get, like everyone im wanting a bargain and the best value for my money thats all.

Yeh im still wanting them, and what im willing to pay depends on the tyres and rims. Like yaself im wanting a bargain and make my money go as far as possible. for now my Trepadores will do just fine, theyve only done 3k since i brought them. untill a set comes up that im happy with.
