Flame wars, huh?

I'm glad though, that the immortal record of the internet will bear everyone's stance on the matter!

Just a bit different from:
MihiT wrote:Typically anything round with PCD bolts gets tightened in a criss-cross pattern. if you can imagine a clock you'd tighten them in order: 12, 6, 3, 9,, 1, 7, 4, 10,, 2, 8, 5, 11.

So, flying off the handle about something I didn't even say?

Might need to shift that PC out in to the sun old fulla!

youngon, youngon, youngon,
if that's not opposite then what is??

in the modern clock teaching format im sure you must realize that 6.00 is opposite to 12 and 3.00 is opposite to 9.

well that was the way our clocks worked last week, although im guessing that superior youngon engineers just change things around to suit their own ends.

either way im done with stupid bickering and as you stated that you are horrified with the way that ive found to bolt up my beadlock rim then just remain scared then lad cause its not going to change.

fyi my children do not have any children them selves so that takes me out of the granddad league and im also not a pimply face youngon still trying to shave my first bit of bum fluff off my face either, so that removes me out of the youngon sections as well.

so basically im a bloke who gives advise on stuff that i HAVE DONE and generally shut my mouth and listen to those that have DONE IT THEMSELVES if i haven't

maybe you could take that on board as well

conversation over

On a side note, is there a minimum requirement for how many bolts there must be on a beadlock rim for competition use.?

They must be up to a certified standard I THINK thats its 36 8mm bolts and should really be stated on the cert plate but i geuss alot of people dont for the Open/Challenge class, in the Outlaw class (SI) it doesnt matter cant speak for the Modified class (NI) but i have run my 32 bolt type there with no issues in the NZ1 comp.

my bad for earlier mentioning 32 bolts

its actually 36 x m6 for road legal vehicles

non road legal it can be reduced to 18 x m8

depends on what class and comp you are in to what you need to use

check the rules under "wheels" for rim and tyres requirements

beadlock spec's for competition use depend on the governing body or individual event organiser's rules, haven't looked at NI winch challenge rules for a long time but it used to be that they had to have passed lvvta certification for the vehicle they are on so they would have had to have met lvvta standards at the time of certification whether they were 24, 32 or 36 bolt :D just ask bruce hughes from the SI about it he got disqualified after 11th hour protests by other disgruntled competitors at the end of the 2006 rotorua winch challenge just after he won it coz his truck was lvvta certified for 15x8 beadlocks and he was running 15x10 beadlocks hence the SI jokers packing up and leaving NI Challenges Inc and setting up their own SI competition series and governing body :D dunno about NI trials rules (I don't think many people know about NI trials rules there all full of contradiction's and everyones always arguing about them :D ) but most other events usually only come under the beadlocks being considered safe and fit for their intended purpose the same as everything else when the trucks/buggies get scrutineered :D
