Alloy welding on my Gas Gas in Hamilton

Postby DieselBoy » Mon Nov 17, 2014 7:14 pm

Not long before we went to Aus I dropped the Gassa off a bank and managed to damage the exhaust mountings.

These being a super light weight machine (69kgs) means there's less than fark all holding anything to anything. Once one bracket breaks the rest start to go with it.

I have exhausted my list of contacts. Turns out I don't know anyone that can weld alloy.

Anyone have any contacts in Hamilton??

Its sitting here in bits, just waiting............

The main top bracket starting to go due to the increased "float"

The real problem, the bottom mount has parted company with the exhaust

This is the machine, Gas Gas TXT300 Pro.

I used supreme sheetmetals in frankton to do some alloy welding on a cracked gearbox. Job was good. They didn't do beer payment type work though unfortunately, just cash. Guy I dealt with was Mark. Got recommended there when I lost my alloy welder contact

I have AC/DC pulse tig, but I is in Welly so not much help, do have a contact in Rotorua if you get stuck, Keith is a craftsman welder and is doing a alloy boat at the moment.
Cheers
