Road bikes

Postby Aaron » Tue Jun 19, 2007 2:35 pm

This must be where we post up all the road bikes weve had, and find out who has the need for speed, that only a big bike can give you.

My SV that I still have dont get to use it much now,

GT750 3cyl 2 stroke fun but heavy.

Also have had 1998 GSXR750, 1986 GSXR750 and VF500.
The SV isnt the fastest bike around but I got old and started to slow down.

this is about as close as i get these days this is me and a mate with our kids, I used to race a Honda RS 125 gp bike and i've had my fair share of smaller road bikes 250cc anh 400cc but i'm just little, i'm thinking about another road bike, like a Monster 600cc style more than speed, but i might end up going back to the japs cheaper to fix lol

Had my fair share of bikes over the years, grew up on 2 wheels, would recommend it to anyone learning as it teaches you to 'keep you on your toes' having to watch out for all those other road users that intend on killing you

last bike i owned was a fully worked ex-race bike, GSXR400, had custom headers, tail pipe, port job, gearing, hand built fiberglass/kevlar fairings etc etc.. the list goes on, long story short, it would rip a stock GSXR750 off the line with ease  I think if I kept it I probably wouldn't be here to post this

rangimotors wrote:if anyone know's of a 600, don't be shy

In the workshop I worked at the time, we sponsored a rider, we built a CBR400RR with a CBR600RR engine, bored out to 700cc and various other mods... it dyno'ed at a little above the Brittan bike  Shame the rider trashed it doing 230kms at the end of Ruapuna straight :(

I'll try to scan a few photos and post them here so you can see the beast of mine

4wd's are fun but I miss 2 wheels

Yep I intend too when I get the chance, I should have done it by now considering I was the first one on NZ roads to have one of these road legal... just a bit slack really. That photo was taken on the first weekend out (2 days after I picked it up back in May 2003) so it's a bit different now.

Here's me & mine on the track at Philip Island:

Coming from a long line of puddle jumpers, I just can't get into the whole sports bike crouch thing, so I figured this was the next best thing. I would have gone a motard, but 900km+ days suck on a motard.. :x
