Shineray

Postby Pete » Wed Oct 17, 2007 8:10 am

Hi all,

Looking at getting a bike for the kids I have little experience of bikes - prefer 4 wheels ! Looking at about 50c with centrifugul clutch and hopefully shaft drive. Boys are 7 and 8. Have looked at the yamaha Pw50.

A Shineray copy / equivalent is about $1000 - the yamaha about $1700. Any thoughts onthe reliability / quality of the Chinese stuff ?

Cheers,

pete

would probably work ok being they are younger, the only thing i would watch out for is the workmanship, the bike shop i used to ride for got in one of the "cheap" bikes and the frame was poorly welded (cracked after a weekend of riding- but this was a 250 race bike), other than that i was ok, looked cheap but went ok.
toymota thats stock standard.

Gidday,

Thanks - yeah i don't reckon they would be too hard on it.... The Shineray stuff at least has local dealers and not just an importer who is not around when you wasnt sometjing. i am trying to find someone who owns one. I have seen some of the real cheap Chinese stuff and its is pretty shoddy !

Cheers,

pete
