Just wondering if anyone on here goes spearfishing? I went I the weekend for the first time and loved it!! I think I might have to buy some gear instead of borrowing my mates gun and fins with my thin skiing/boarding suit.
What sort of gear do u have??

Re: Spear fishing?
Spear fishing is great fun and really productive.
I use a 5mm Rob Allen x-flex suit. I use this in winter and summer all over the south island and am fine.
You will want a rubber weight belt good long fins and a really well fitting low volume mask (its worth paying any price for a good one)
PM me for more details. I may be able to sort you a good deal on some gear.
Thanks Lawrence

Re: Spear fishing?
your more than welcome, theyre really good to deal with aswell, ive used the icon ones ad the quest ones and theyre just as good as eachother, quest ones are a bit more expensive and have better features though.
its a great way to get into the hobby/sport, as theyre affordable but they will last you for a while.
p.s no im not a salesman for them , just think highly of their gear

Re: Spear fishing?
I have been into spear fishing for a couple of years now, its great fun. I use a Beuchat spear gun same as this one here, http://www.trademe.co.nz/sports/scuba-s ... 766242.htm
Its a really good gun I have used a friends Wettie the same length and preferred the Beuchat, I thought it was better balanced in the water and they seam to be better made. I also have a one piece 5mm Beuchat suit for about three years and its still holding up really well and its had a fair bit of use.
