Ruahines- Deerstalking spots n Tips

Postby Pj_Marsh » Mon Oct 28, 2013 5:24 pm

Hey guys
I'm new to palmy and have been trying to fill my freezer with a bit of venny, not having much luck though. Anyone hunt the ruahines? I'm on the south east side, and did a mish up coppermine creek today but not seeing much sign of any good deer numbers. Anyone got some tips for hunting the area? I'm going to try the tops next, just have to get a better scope.

cheers

Hey, usually the coppermine is pretty fruitful, but may have had a hammering lately. You could cruise up to mangaweka and have a looksee around Kelly knight hut area, can be ok there, must dig out my old maps

talk with some local farmers in that area, most are more than happy to allow access through farms.(lots of gullies and scrub up coppermine and top grass) public spots are real hit and miss these days.
