yankee land

Postby sig » Mon Apr 18, 2011 8:49 am

well been here for a week now and am sick of burgers and fries.all i want is a roast meal with veggies ( i normally hate veggies) .the closest thing to veggies we found was deep fried asparagus.Disneyland is awesome .Had 3 days there but didn,t get on all the rides ,ran out of time .And that was with starting at opening time 9am and staying there till 11pm two nights.Learnt that food is farken expensive in Dland ,cost us 120 bucks the first day .Second day we took our own ( normally not allowed ,all bags searched on the way in ) Decided that for a couple of days my kids were gluton intollerant and have special dietry requirements :) worked a treat .Went to the Pomona swapmeet today and man o man its massive .20 kms of isles to walk down .Some cheap stuff there but also a lot of not so cheap stuff.some heaps of awesome cars and 4x4s everywhere .Will try and get some pictures up at some stage .Hotel internet is pretty slow .Almost as slow as sadams dialup . Will post more as we progress SIG

manifolds were everywhere there.spied a complete tpi injection with loom and extras for a couple hundy, but am a bit tight for space .monster energy motox tops $20 ,all sizes .Bought me a new hjc motox helmet for 30 bucks.brand new oneil helmets 25 bucks ,brand new monster energy helmets 50 bucks.bought the kids some oneil motox tops for 15 bucks each.so much stuff i was like a 6 year old kid in a candy store.one thing that was in short supply was LS engine stuff ( which is what i was looking for )only 1 engine and that was on the back of a truck being used to demo some dress up gear.really need to clone yourself to do it all.i got there at 7am and there were people already leaving .talked to a couple of guys who were there from 5am.hats and tshirts are cheap as from 5 bucks each .one thing thats catching us is all prices are less tax and when you go up to the counter with your $1.19 in one cent pieces to get a cheese burger you have to dig for another 10 cents.tax is 8.75% on everything .tipping is a pain in the arse.and everybody is so damn happy all the time.if you talk to anyone they all finish with " you have a good day now sir".

got heaps of pics but internet is so slooooow ,and i,m not kidding .Tried to upload 1 photo to photobucket but internet timed out WTF .it takes about 15 mins to download 500k of emails .tried it in the hotel lobby and its marginally better but really frustrating when at home i can download stuff heaaaaaps faster .will put some up when i get a decent connection .Did seaworld today and it was pretty good . good shows and the atlantis ride was awesome .part rollycoaster part log ride had to do it a couple of times because the wait was only about 5 mins compared to 90 to 120 mins for a coaster at legoland and knotts berry farm.got a nice picture of a stretch corvette limo .taz01 would love it

well now we are in hawaii ,Vegas was cool ,but shows were expensive.Gunna do the arizona and air museum and then lay on the beach .Will have to buy another suitcase thou .Had a minor heart attack when we checked in .we are allowed 50 lbs per bag but our but all our bags weighed close to 60 lbs each .had to do a big shuffle around for our cabin bags .kids moaned that they were too heavy.Flew United airways from LA to Honolulu .was a bit pissed about it ,we flew out at 5pm and expected dinner on the plane ,as per air new zealand. But on UA you have to buy their food on the plane .10 bucks for a sandwich !!!.needless to say we had to buy the kids some snack boxs at 7 bucks each ( which contained about $1.50 worth of crap )so all the kids were grumpy when we got off the plane .Honolulu was in the midst of a tropical storm when we landed and the lightning show was awesome .Had to stop and video a bit of it .30 min delay for our bags due to the storm .Kids were a bit happier when a limo picked us up and took us to our hotel ( cheaper than a taxi or shuttle bus).we are now just about to go out for breakfast and have a look around
