at the risk of sounding dumb.. what rotors are you usually fitting to replace the drums on hilux rear?? dont think i'll need to change mine over, its prob going to have a front end at the back :wink: :wink:

Im going to do this conversion and am wondering what discs too get? and if anyone out there has a set they would let me purchase?

I used rear disk's from a 78 series Prado, New from BNT they were around $60 each with a trade disc. :D

Has anyone got any pics of this as a finished product fitted to a leaf sprung hilux? Have you used the original brake cables etc?

had clearance problems with mine & had to get new cables made up as the standard hilux cable pulls in the wrong direction for the mr2 calipers.
89 LN106 Hilux 3.0L turbo,2" bodylift 50mm suspension lift, lockrite rear, lsd front & 33" wranglers & winch

here's the thread from when i did it.
just haven't added the photo's of how i cut and re-welded the hand brake lever so it clears the leaf. and used a surf hand brake lever to go from a single cable to two cables (one to each brake). hope this helps

so got some callipers from an aw11 mr2 (10 bucks on trademe :D ). they look fairly identical to the sw20 ones. Are the 78 series disks going to fit in there? Or should i grab some ln65 discs? Also, Going to put a proper handbrake on the floor. Will any old handle do? I see bulletproof used a landcruiser handbrake lever. People have any prefernces? Oh and any old equalizer does the trick for the handbrake cables?
