31st/1st Nov weekend achievement!

Postby petefj40 » Fri Nov 20, 2009 7:33 am

Well folks. I've done it again. But this time round it'll be for good.

I slipped up this time last year when I went with the boys on a fishing trip. But I've learnt from that. Though I hope there will be plenty more fishing trips ahead. I'm not going to be tempted again.

My achievement on the last day of October was to stop smoking pot. Yep. I've started a thread like this before. Real happy with myself I guess. But that was because that was the first time I'd tried stopping since starting on it when I was 17. (that's 28yrs of smoking the stuff everyday).

I'm not going to knock people for using it. I'm fine with people using it around me now. Doesn't bother me. Yeah I like the smell of it. But I don't want it in my system anymore. I was one of those people that just had to have it every few hours. At the worst I was hooking through an O a week. That's $350 a shot. But I'd think nothing of it.
I was going to admit myself to rehab coz I just thought it was to hard to stop. But after talking to my partner and getting things on a stronger footing with her again, she's helped me heaps. Just her putting up with me in those first few days was the biggest help.

I'm clear headed again. I want to finish getting my private pilot license again next year and this time finish it.
Having a clearer head gives me so much more drive to do shit.

Ok, That's my brag/rant over.
If you're stuck in a rut like I was, it would be cool if this post gave you spirit

Yep, I was a pot head through and through wopass. had been for most of my life.
But I'd always do my best to try and pretend that I wasn't off my face. Coz I hated people knowing, hated that. i'd never sound like a stonner.
The more I look at it as I get clean, the more I see that I was just looking after myself and not giving a shit about anyone else, so long as I was stoned.
Then when I wasn't, I was a prick, a real asshole. But it was just because I needed my fix. And the people I love the most had to put up with that.

I'm on the right track. I'm feeling better about myself everyday.
Life is gettin better.

I'd only buy the best sticky shit nibs. ya know, the type of stuff that sticks to the bag n sticks ya car out. Sometimes it would go down to $250. But most of the time $350.
The coin I'm saving is cool. More to spend on toys.

Now this explains a lot - I thought the only reason you bought and modifyed a 40 Series was because you were crazy - you were just too stoned to realise what you were doing!!

That wasn't the only silly thing I've spent money on Andrew. (but I am glad I have my 40)
I get a shock sometimes (now I'm not off my face) when I walk into my garage. To many toys.

Ahh I guess we can never have to many toys aye fellas? :D
But since buying another house on the westside of town I'll be doing a cull when we move.

I'll be the first to put my hand up when ya do the cull

it may have a dirty holden/chev motor in it, but when ya cull the 40, I'll be more than happy to take it off ya hands

I was a big pot head for too many years (25yrs infact). I'm glad I've beaten it. It was hard, but I had to make a choice. My family or pot. There was no choice in the end. My family is everything to me. It took me along time to figure that one out though. Life. This isn't a trail run. This is it...

One thing that always shocked me when I smoked pot was, the amount of people from low end to high end jobs that smoked it. It's a massive problem. While you use it, life passes you by, you don't notice things.

I could talk about it all night.
If you're having trouble beating it, pm me and I'll help as much as I can.
:thumright:

I'm a better person for kicking it. Life is to short.

I still remember the first toke after not smoking for 18months. (It sat me on me ass, couldn't talk. I was real ga ga.)

That time kicking it was the first time I'd every tried.
The boys on the fishing trip where smoking so much of it I gave in. But I thought, ahhh, just one toke.

A year later, here I am. Doing it for the second time.
But to me, it's a big achievement! Even second time round.

To those people that are happy using it.
It's like someone said.."each to their own". To a lot of people they can have a puff once a week and keep it under control. But me, I'm either full on, or none at all.

Last thing.
If I'm at a party and you're using it around me, do it. it's your choice and I'd never knock you for it.

:D
