Why 2,500 people feel the need to run or walk 21kms ( some more ) for fun , is way beyond me.
I am not totally sure the human body was designed for such torture.
Watching them this time last year, I know some definitely weren't

family did a 10km sunset coast walk with the waiuku rotary club on farm land at Kariotaha .
