well, i have an 89 surf (last of the old shape), it is stock standard apart from a snorkel and i have a set of 31 inch firestone mud tires i got for cheap. was thinking about doing abit of a cheap lift (shakels in back and wind up torsion bars) but now am not sure as dont know how long ill be keeping it (having afew motor problems). i am going to be in qtwn working til feb when i go back to uni. will be working alot but am very keen to do some 4wding on days off (if my trucks still going lol)

hey guys, i just moved to queenstown in the last week and once the pay check starts coming through in a few weeks wouldnt mind getting out and about and checking out the local tracks if ya dont mind showing another new guy round
I have a 92 V6 surf pretty stock apart from a snorkel, some tow hook / highlift jack points (thanks mike!) and torsion bars tweaked a bit and LSD. Also my mate is also moving here in a few days and he would be dead keen to get out at some stage too he has a MU lifted and running 33's

hey penetrator, welcome to QT,

yeah as crom cruiser said heaps of good tracks towards cromwell and through central, 1 and 2 day missions,..

as for QT theres a bit of everything, queenstown hill is covered in them, the entire hill behind frankton road has tracks through it of all discriptions, also if you head up goldfields road theres a cyclone gate just about at the top which takes you over the hill to aurthers point, think it services the pylons good in there; locked gate at the point end though....

list goes on and on aye, head up GY way and you have the rees and dart rivers.... MASSIVE braided rivers to play in :D

see ya round

Hey pete i went for a look up there today too and came to that same gate with padlocks and a private property sign - had a look at a couple of other possible tracks but they looked like bulldozed ones for the tree felling up there and were a bit slick and muddy to try by myself today!! I wasnt sure if i was in the right spot or not??? Ill be working during the days too but will keep in touch about going for a play - hope the turbo problem wont be a major for ya

Yeah that would have been me you saw bill with the jack on the roof racks - slowly starting to get a bit of gear for myself now

everythings owned by some1 in QT  , goldfields im unsure off, theres a few companys up there using it but depends if its paper road or private huh.. think there is a few owners between the two

QT hill is a good one, all tracks are extensions of the streets yet to be felled and sealed and a combo of service tracks for the lines...
big place man never had any confrontations, but guess ya just gotta make the call if you meet some1 claiming too be a "land owner"...

you found those tracks same way as me, word of mouth, so i say god bless ignorance :)
