Rallywoods has a highway through it

Postby skid » Mon Apr 09, 2012 2:35 pm

as the title suggests and as some of you may have heard through the Welly gossip, theres been talk of a logging road being put through Rallywoods along cruiser drive. Last I heard from one of the shareholders was that its not going ahead, but as I found out today, its already been done and you can now drive a bus to the end of Cruiser Drive.

the view from the clearing at the top end of cruiser drive looking back down the track............

Image

bottom entrance to 'little dipper'...........

Image

to the left of the cruiser is the entrance to the 'lookout track' which heads past the top of 'widowmaker' and 'hells bells' before going dwon to the 'big tree'...............

Image

here is the cruiser sitting roughly at the bottom of what used to be a rock face climb prior to the 'lookout track' there is no climb any more as you can see behind the cruiser looking at the height of the cutting.............

Image

cruiser still sitting in the same place but looking back down the track from the bottom of the old rock face where you used to come down and up a rutted track in front of the cruiser..........

Image

top of wacko where there is now a big mound of dirt.........

Image

and heres the cruiser sitting at the top of wacko where the ruts used to be...........

Image

heres one you should all recognise. this is the view from the top of 'wong way' looking back where there used to be a water hole and a greasy climb before dropping into 'nicks hole'............

Image

here is the entrance to the top of dreamer.............

Image

and this is what the start of cruiser drive looks like from the main access road..........

so as you can see, 'cruiser drive' is no longer a place for cruiser but more of a road that you can cruise along
