I have one spare seat (no rear seats), but you may have to fight the pup for it

5 days out from the biggest nth island ORE gathering.

Monumental.

Fingers crossed i can get the carb fixed on my road bike so i can get wheels changed over on the Safari during the week. Save me running on the muds to work and back, or having to do it on Friday night.

So hows every one else getting on??

No other mysterious mechanical problems that conviniently rear their heads in the nick of time??

ok heres the deal ... after checking some tracks we have desided on a play area that I think most will find .. er interesting ? other tracks have been closed due to various reasons stock, felling and permits requirements but this area was checked out and its rated as differcult to easy.
you will need : tow hooks front and rear properly mounted (you should have these all ready,
a big set of gonades.( steel prefered)
lunch .. we will supply a BBQ you supply something to go on it.
Prefered Requirements, GOOD mud tires
a head for hights
tow straps (snatch)
cb or PRS
dont worry about petrol / diesel, fill in Roto will last all day and safely return.
9.00 am Saturday 6 th August
meet at main road into rotorua Mc Donalds car park off the road,Dont eat da Mc Cucks. Gas up next door at Gull
will then travel about 35 mins to play area anything i have mised out ??? just ask Cheers DJ

Ill add more bits as I remember them,
BBQ area is close to a hot water swiming stream.
Too bad you are over there as I have several tow hooks here, unless you can arrange transport or tell me a place that one of our trucks can drop a couple off at.
have to do a tow hook on the zook this week as all it has is the loop under the bumper

  All this talk of people working hard to finish modifiying there toys has me wondering if the poor little (no ground clearance, bog standard) pajero might be out of its depth :? and Rotovagas is a long way from home if something breaks :( you guys promise to be nice when your towwing us through....

got a couple of :?: 's
I'll have the front hooks sorted but I was working on pulling the towball and putting a shackle in its place, this cool or do I build a new rear bumper overnight  :D
Also my g/f is concerned about the heights... she will be able to walk the sections that are a bit scary, or do I let her pull out? (bearing in mind if your wrong I could end up fighting the dog for a place to sleep  )

thats fine.

dont want to know your sexual practices. please, no Dogs ( 4 legged type). when I mention heights, its a long way down if you fall off the track in some places.
she will be able to walk the sections that are a bit scary
drive it like you stole it

tracks in a area. Anywhere thats 4wding is a play pen/ pit/area. wont be hard to find but if you leave work at 11 from Hamilton then travel to rotorua.... well most of the day has gone... Another trip IS being planned but it will be TWO days and you could come on one day or spend two days what every suits you. This will be either Pureora or Minganui and will not be long in coming. Plus for the more capable trucks, Patatonga is still there and that too is on the drawing board.

:? dum suzuki hasnt got anywhere decent to put a tow hook without some pretty serious cutting of the bumper bar thats on it can get to the chassis rail but will have to cut a hole to get at it and even then it wouldnt be the best, will be a future mod to be done. the original tow point will be ok as we have used it a lot in the past and its only a little truck so not hard to pull  ....

getting everything sorted on the cruiser, have greased all the UJ's and scraped some of the kaimai mud out of the back to make room for some rotovagas mud  ... just need the week to hurry up and finish

Hamilton crew (me,pete, nathan) 3 trucks meeting at hillcrest caltex gas station near the burger king round about at 7am for the fuel up and convoy to rotovagas. GUPPY if you want to convoy with us sing out if you dont know where that is and we can give you some directions, and any other northerners if your comming.

People getting the last minute jitters aye.

Its to be expected.

There are plenty of people here to lend a hand if the going gets tough.

Which it won't.

We can split into two groups, DJ can lead the charge with the better equipped vehicles, and i'll stay back with you guys in the Pajero and the Jeep, we can trundle along at our own pace, we have radio's, (i have three hand helds if any one wants to borrow one, they are still packed in a box some where from when i moved so speak up now while i have time to dig them out) so we won't get lost.

We will just take it slow and easy, absolutly no need to do any damage!!!

How does that sound??

PS: De-Ranged, are you actually LOOKING for an excuse not to bring the missus?? Or just being a metrosexual??
