Am going to be in Christchurch as Zoe has a Seminar thing about muscles....

Hi all, been chatting to Al,
looking at doing something local on the saturday 8th at this stage, thinking of heading up the Waimak, either mclean's Is or north side, there is some VERY challenging parts either side, or on the other hand we can make it relatively easy in the same area's
who's still keen

standard trucks welcome, as long as you have rated tow points (hooks) no towballs or std tie down hooks, you're welcome along, it will be as tough or as easy as you decide, most bad spots can be avoided
however some of us tend not to avoid them

Yip that sounds good then hose hustler - got tow hooks all round and a strop which sounds like it might get to be taken out of the packet on this trip
Hope i didnt sound too scared there its not a waxed and polished shiny I use it for hunting but have seen some of those massive trenches down at the waimak and wasnt too sure what I might be getting myself in for - sounds like fun

Lets say 1L of oil or diesel has the same specific gravity as 1L of water.
60kg's of fuel
10kg's engine oil
4kg's front diff oil
2.5k'gs rear diff oil
5kg's gear box oil
2kg's transfer case oil
5kg's coolent
2kgs brake fluid and powersteering plus anything else i have forgotten
So a genorous 90kg's more, bearing in mind oil and diesel reqardless of weight is lighter than water.
So more like 2.05 tonnes wet.
A bit of recovery gear, winch, bullbars and bigger wheels etc would certainly have you up round the 2.5 tonne mark quickly.
Anyhow, this has absolutly nothing to do with your trip, so i will quietly bugger off and leave you to it
Have fun!!!!
Pete
