What awesome country, an awesome trip and great company.

Thanks Haynzy for running this, it was certainly appreciated by myself and the boys.

Was great to catch up with other ORE guys I haven't seen for a while, and a couple of new ones I hadn't met before.

Had a brilliant 2 days and look forward to the next one.

Thanks again Haynzy.

P.S. will post photos soon as I get a chance.

Ahh yeah,

Had a bit of a comedy of errors getting it that far,
Firstly, went to borrow Stinkys trailer with mum's disco (Mum and Dad came on the rescue mission with me). the towball on it was 50mm and drawbar 1 7/8s on the trailer, not to worry we've got the other size towball (has a small bar that goes through the actual ball and a point in the towbar). This didn't go through the hole it needed to. So, pulling out of stinky's driveway the drawbar came off the towbar and went under the vehicle, promptly destroying the trailer brake components. Nevermind the disco should stop it ok. So, after stinky redoing the wiring set off and met mudnutz family on the way who had borrowed Taz01's dolly for their lux. Left Wellington about 7pm last night. Got to the vehicles at about 11. All loaded up AOK (although 50mm longer in the wheelbase and I wouldn't have fitted). Then I promptly got the disco stuck in the carpark at the shearers quarters, unloaded the lux off the trailer (with a sound like a jack hammer under the bonnet) and drove it up to the road. The disco then easily reversed out. Loaded back up.
5km out from Taihape I got the tail wagging the dog scenarios. Didn't know what to do and ended up stopped on the oposite side of the road with a hilux bullbar dent in the discos rear quarterpanel (although all still strapped on ok). After that, one of the trailer wheels had sheared itself off. So unloaded the lux, put the spare on and towed the trailer down to the gas station and came back for the hilux. Abandoned the hilux as the trailer was not looking up to it at that point. So the plan is to take a braked trailer up this week and retrieve it. Dad will drive this time. By contrast mudnuts's trip home was relatively smooth. Turned into about a 10 hr return trip and learnt a lot of lessons.

Ore good bastards:
Bruntonjm for the initial ride home
Stinky for the loan of the trailer
Mudnuts and family for the help
