if you go right back to the start, you will see that this is a jerry thread

so it could be a while before he replies as is usually the case with any event jerry posts up

but by all means, bring the 80, and don't forget the free lift kit for my 80 and associated stickers for sponsorship

I've seen the way you drive, you might as well forget the 80 being a shiney right now cause no matter how long you try to keep it shiney in 2-3 years youll just end up giving in and making it a club truck, might as well club truck it now and enjoy the 2-3 years extra with it youll have as a club truck  So yeah take the shiney

Iron man was only slightly shiny so all good and the longer it takes me to get the cruiser back together the less shiny the ute becomes. As for the trees.. maybe someone can put some nice bars of the front of thre ute for me this week in trade for beer lol

I will have some seats avail

So have you organisers decided what you are doing :?: :?:

Discussions on Saturday night centred around wether RW is suitable for shinies etc and the possibility of going in the Akas and doing zig zag etc.

I personally think the kids will get a decent kick out of the Akas instead of us having to push our shinies thru RW.

just how many 'shiny' tracks are there in RW :?: :?:

I don't think theres many at all.

So if you decide to stay in RW, then you need to make folks aware of the tracks being overgrown and the fact that they may get scratches and the possible panel damage, sill damage.

I don't want to scare folks away but they need to be aware, especially if they havent been to RW before.

Also if you decide to go to Akas, then you better organise it yesterday, coz apparently it takes 5 days and Reece is not around this weekend, so you will have to find another trip leader.

Sorry if this upsets the organisers, but I feel we need to know and if you want to take 50 cubs as mentioned in the first post, then you will be needing a lot more vehicles than those who have offered. I only get to around 25 seats so far. :(

concern over running an aka's trip is that we don't get enough trucks or we end up with a huge convoy thru there which IS do-able but not fun as these are mostly stop/start etc.

Yes when I meant shinyish I meant club truck shiny not family truck shiny, may be scrathy and possible panel damage depending on how you drive and where you go, good AT's or mud tyres required as are rated recovery points and fire extingisher and first aid kit etc

It all depends of course how wet it is and what vehicles we have turn up, those with the shinier trucks are still welcome to come up and help out if they don't want to go round the tracks.

We are planning to split the cubs into 2-3 groups and have different activities, one of these could be climbing up a steep muddy track with ropes etc, another could be a tug of war over the donut hole, and then an "easy" and "hard out" 4wd run.

Still deciding the routes, will put up times etc later today.

Thanks Skid for the comments i see what your saying. There will be kids aged from 6 thru to 16 and some concerned parants by shiny i ment the main tracks for some the trip up to the hutt will be enough. I have no intention of allowing anyone to drive a track there ability or truck is not up to and will inform everyone of the scratchyness of each track.
This trip is about the cubs highlighting rallywoods and showing what a good lot the 4wd community in wellington is. Of course theres the option of overnight booze etc after there gone which should be by 4pm.

Hopefully there will be one or two parents who decide to join us and come 4wheelin after we show them how much fun it can be. The issue of rated hooks etc is not going to be a problem as we are all old and wise enough to know where we can go with what we have. The few parants with 4wds will not be allowed to go into places where this would cause issues.

Thank you all for the support your showing you are all doing the 4wd community proud
