Bloody hell! Who would have thought it Rich? And when it had been so reliable & trouble-free all weekend too...

I, on the other hand, only got as far as Springs Junction before having to be rescued by my daughter. Yet another Suzuki alternator defeated by Lake Daniells, a jump start needed every ten kms so I could limp home to Reefton, also stopping every few minutes to fill up & cool off an overheating, mud-encrusted radiator.

It was a great weekend though. So good to put names & personalities to faces & usernames. Really enjoyed meeting all of you who came over and hope to repeat the experience.

Was a great week for the Aussies and me, real pleased to get through 4 days of hard fun nursing just the loss of rear brakes
The chasm was a challenge as always, the usual Reefton tracks were great and lake Daniels across Thompsons flat was good fun too but boy the river in to Thompsons has changed

Fixng it of course Richard...nah, just needed more auto trans fluid. Those pics I took Richard (thnaks Tim for loading them, I'm just too slack) and I'm sorry I never got more of the chasm, too busy playing winch bitch for a few guys I suppose. Nathan got a few good vids though, you can catch those on FB. We got thru in about 4hrs. The Grey was pretty low as you can see and really I would have to say the track seems easier then it has been. Dropping down into the chasm from the Clarke end tricked a few up and caused a few arse pucker moments I would say. I had an awesome week back in the land of the long white cloud and I especially miss the westcoast. Good to catchup with old friends and places.

Thanks Al
So it looks like you did Slab hut, Petrol hill, Chasm and lake Daniels. That is a good time for the chasm with a number of trucks. Unless it is the angle of the photo Petrol hill looks although it might be be harder and the ruts on Slab hut deeper as well with Tim on quite an angle.

You will have to move back to get back into proper 4 wheeling.

Cheers Richard

Yep, the rock face of petrol hill is getting longer and more of an acute angle from the bottom from being dug up by tyres. Those ruts into slab hut arent too bad really. As for proper 4wheeling, your right in one perspective, I enjoy it most on the Westcoast. The parks over here can be quite challenging as they have winch challenge tracks on them, but not the "safari" style of NZ. You just never know Richard

Apologies for the video of Tim in the bog hole the camera seems to have changed the frame rate for some reason so plays a tad fast, still sounds good though

Looks like an awsome time guys!! I would love to make it down there for next year if another trip is being planned.

Do you have to be road legal or can trailer queens still manage to get from track to track?
There's gotta be some rocks round here SOMEWHERE!
