Snow/Godley Glacier trip 2013

Postby Taz » Sun May 12, 2013 3:04 pm

More details to come.

Limited spots this year (gunning for around 12).
If there is huge DEFINITE interest I may work something else out.

2nd weekend of August (9th-13th), 2 nights up God/Mac then 2 up the Dobson Valley at the top of Lake Ohau, pending my organizational skills pulling finger. If the Dobson is a no go we'll head up the Hopkins or somewhere else nearby where there's snow 8)
This is just for a change to keep things fresh, the Hopkins is a pretty epic place.

Was hoping to stay down longer this year but won't have time. Doesn't mean others can't if they wish so yell out if you're keen and we'll cobble some details together and I'll throw them on here.

Still a way out so things will change but the list so far is:

1.)Juz
2.)Cindy
3.)Sam
4.)Jeremy
5.)Tony 2 nights head down friday night, back sunday night
6.)Jed?
7.)Jamie
8.)Brad
9.)Tim
10.) Willy
11.)
12.)

PM me if you're coming and let me know if you're coming for 2 or 4 days. Cheers.

Maybe:

Johnno (may be bringing what's left of his trailer)
Phil (may be seen taking pictures of lens caps from behind, dirty bugger)
Nibz (may be a woman trapt in a mans body. not sure what goes on in that camper)
Reece (may be wearing no pants at all this trip)
Bev (may be driving a new ms daisy)
mumbls (may be coming. i couldn't quite hear)
kiwiterrano (may be quite fit and have calluses on his hands after this trip if he brings a Lada)

Here is a link to last years thread to give you an overview of what to expect:

Sweet. Popped you on there.

Probably easier to just keep it to yes and no's from here as I only have a limited imagination

Just let me know here or via PM if you are coming (can be closer to the time when you know for sure).

Looks like my maybe has turned into a probably not :( :(
as my truck isn't going to be ready...

I know .....I know some of you don't believe I even have a truck

I do , it just seems to be off the road more than on .
I really have to get some mechanical and engineering skills.

And remember to not lend it out .

Hey Taz
It's a NO from me this year. Two events on that weekend already and it looks like I'm going to have to miss out on the next vintage trial too

Enjoy all. Was a great trip last year.
Oh and the trailer is still going strong LOL!

PM me if you're coming and let me know if you're coming for 2 or 4 days. Cheers. (have a few PMs there I haven't checked yet too, will get onto that)

Right I'm out too sorry guys have left it till last minute but there is a dude coming out for work who just (finally) 100% confirmed on that weekend (and I doubt I'd have my heap ready anyway at this stage tbh)

I may or may not have impulse bought one of these Image which has kept me off here too sorry haha (not really sorry, that thing is awesome!)

Right, anyway, trip goes on I'm sure. Will sort out a 'leader' (any hands) and the meet details (same as previous years, just new dates) but most have been up before anyway so there will be plenty of noses to follow.

I left a few messages regarding the Dobson on one of the numbers and no one got back to me, but it turns out the people I was ringing are never there and it is possibly booked at this stage till the 12th, but they haven't confirmed so I'll keep in touch with them and let peoples know what their options are regarding that.

If it all turns to shit and ends up being later in the month it is free from the 20th for anyone interested in that extra bit.

Peace!

I think it would be easier to shift it to the week after? the 20th?

Just that the mud thing at Sheffield is on that weekend and I cant do both :(

Doesn't seem like to much interest aye. Shall we aim to leave Rolleston around 10am?

I'd like to tag along if that's OK, I can do friday to sunday.
I'm in Temuka so it would be better for me to meet up on the way.

I don't have a problem with that, but I'm not running the trip  See you in Tekapo.
Calling Taz... are you out there... Dobson??
I'm planning on 2 nights at the McCaughly Hut, then 2 nights somewhere else, maybe Hopkins or Ahiruri (sp?)
