Pretty much roll up with cash in hand, pay at the gate and drive through.

The road is a toll road managed by Rainbow Station (Star Holdings Ltd) and is open from 26 December to 5 pm on Easter Monday. There is a $25 toll per 4WD vehicle, $15 per motorbike, $2 per mountain or push bike, trampers - no charge

In season (gates open)
The gates are unlocked daily from 7am-6pm between Boxing Day (26th December) and Easter Monday. The applicable toll charges (see below) are payable to the Gate Manager on your way through

Well just went trough. Got on from rainbow ski road and came out on jollys pass in hamner. Incredible place to see and while iy wasnt a challanging drive it was surely one of the best. Camped at lake teneson about half way. Recommend to all. Put it on the to do list!
