Clearly I am getting cagey. My South Island trip didn't go ahead due to the ferry breakdown...
Anyone interested in doing an Odlins Road run this Saturday 25 or Sunday 26 January? I have both days off and free on whichever suits.
Cheers
Josh

Looking forward to it, haven't been to Oldins for years, and to meeting new 4WD addicts

Cheers Paul, great day.
Dry conditions so we aired down to 18 & 23 psi respectively.
Attached are photos of the previously impassible slip about 1/2km from the green hut. We managed to Find a Path but access is very narrow, there is a steep loose rocky descent followed by a very sharp uphill section, and cliff to the right with probably 1 foot of clearance... and its soft. Our trucks had similar track width/wheelbase/weight.
Coming back out was even more fun, theres very little room for error descending the sharp turn

Entered the riverbed and followed it up too, nice change of terrain. Both got stuck up at some point but managed to drive out. Quite rocky in there and Reminiscent of Central Otago river driving.

Hope your trip with CCVC was great also Mat.
We had an awesome day, I have some vid of it but need to put it together and edit it, its just from my phone and doesn't look so flash initially.
Couple more pics.
Some old machinery, for logging I guess.
