hey mate

there are quite a few lada guys on here who I'm sure will be able to help you out. (personally not one though)
put up where you are by going through 'private messages' and then 'profile'.
then you might be able to meet up with a few of them?

welcome to the forum as well. :D

cheers

hey welcome to ore. where are you located?

for ya snorkel check out ladaworld.com. Stig is due to get some more in stock at the end of the month. I plan on getting one for myself as they are made for niva and I'v used him before for other stuff. let me know if your keen an we can save on freight.

let me know how ya get on with the guard trim as im about to do the same. was looking at my grinder but was wondering about a steel nibler instead. duno Im not much of a pannel beater. but I know the rears is where the trouble is due to being double skind.

ive just lifted mine 2 inch and borowing some 30x9.5 muds to size up and they hit the guards. Im aiming to be able to fit 31x10.5 after guard trim.

have ya looked at baxters site heaps of good info on there otherwise a few lada nuts on here aswell that know there stuff :D

I'm another lada weirdo.

I'm the one who does all the stuff on the cheap, so if you are on a tiny budget give me a shout!

I have a few money-saving tips up my sleeve 8)

Baxter's site will give you all the info on suspension lifts etc
As for the guard chop, Look to the tools you have unless you have the experiance of a panel beater... when you weld you will warp the panels enough that it wont mater what you cut them with
I save my half worn thin cutting disks there smaller size allows you to cut tighter curves in the panel steel
Right a couple of simple tips that I learned after the fact or from experiance
mark your guards with a grid using permanent marker... this will allow you to make each side the same and wont rub off half way through
If you want to keep the guard lip flair section it out in four corner pieces.... then you can expand it and link it with flat 2 dimensional folds the lada looks cool with the sqaure'er guard look... do the same with the inner guard if you want to expand them
When you weld stitch weld about an inch long with big gaps try to give it plenty time between welds you don't want heat it warps panels, and after all this you will warp the panels  but it will be minimal
Another tip when you are marking out if you are able set it up so when you place the lip back on the panel the panel reaches to the wheel side of the lip so you have to weld it top and bottom this will give you more structure and strength

Cheers Reece

haha, next trip was the pig farm and then it died there and has not been going again properly since. I am giving as much encouragement to him to get the mini going again so he can then focus back on the Lada.

will be real embarrassing if I get the Suzuki back going before the Lada
