Postby BogBoy » Mon Jul 08, 2013 7:31 pm

Hey all

Well I own a D21 nissan terrano but now am looking at a lada niva....

Keeping the D21 for day to day use and the lada for the weekend.

Any thing I should look out for?

Any info on the drive train in them?

Niva's do not too bad off road. Are you keeping it road legal? I think some of the weak links for nivas are if you put bigger tyres on them they can wreck steering boxs easily. The other thing to watch out for is that they have the front diff bolted up to the engine block and if the bolts come loose they kind of snap the rest out of the front diff head. Baxters temple of niva is a good site to glean much info on all things niva.

I put one in the mud plug this year at Oamaru and I was quite surprised how well it went.
