its pretty bad mate, rear cross member was rotten hence cutting it off an making a new one, the front is just as bad and as it has the radiator support brakets and the front panel braket on it that makes it harder as i have to get them all spot on in the right place, theres a bit of rot up the inside of the rails too which im not too sure about, may have to just patch plate it to add strength then fill it up with anti rust/killer stuff... im still looking for a decent chassis but in the mean time im repairing mine just in case i cant find a good one nice and cheap.

yea im having fun with the grinder

Sell all the bits off it you don't want and you will end up with a free chassis. The chassis and tub are mint rust free.

Hahhaha no offence mate but i could bring myself to spend that much coin on something i have to do work on, i may as well spend my time (free) on mine and end up with a better product  and i could get a mint 1984 fj40 rolling chassis with live plates here in ham for a lot less than what your asking but thats more than im willing to part with  im a cheep bastard,

update : 1:09am 27th dec (no pics tho sorry)

8)

bit of progress on the missile over the last couple of days, have sorted all the rear end out rust wise and its looking much better, still have to make a new rear end for it but thats no biggy, just some more RSJ and weld it up

the fronts loooking a lot better to, patched a bew thin bits around the chassis by welding stuff ppver the top of it  but it should last another 39 years like that....pretty big patches  ...still have to stitch the front cross member in yet and since its been sitting there with nothing holding it together the chassis has spread by 2 inches  have to put my lever block on it to pull it back to line up properly when i do get around to stitching in the new bit  maybe tomorrow after ive sorted a couple of other things 8)

over all... pretty happy

I smell a cover up... pics are essential (you know us pic whores need our fix  )

I'm impressed - you've gone right back to the chassis - big project but you seam to have jumped into it and considering work involved just scream though it 8)

Must say I agree with the way you are listing this post so people can read through the entire mod without interruptions/responses from others.
