The word is until they get some decent rain fall which doesn't look likely at the moment

You are kidding right that was the most pitiful amount of rain I seen this month, If anything it needs to be pissing down in order for Woodhill to reopen.

Re: Woodhill 4x4 Park Closed due to High Fire Risk 14-02-201
The rain the other day was measured at less than 1mm at the Forest the other day
Re: Woodhill 4x4 Park Closed due to High Fire Risk 14-02-201
Just keeping this Active so people don't get caught out heading up to Woodhill forest with it closed down at the moment.
Re: Woodhill 4x4 Park Closed due to High Fire Risk 14-02-201
Woodhill Forest and the 4WD Park is still closed and is likely to remain so for some time yet as there is no significant rain forecast.
Roger of the 4WD Park has advised that it will now take at least 50mm of rain before it will open again.
On another note Roger has advised that despite the closure of Woodhill Forest, people have been ignoring the warning and closure signs and accessing Wilsons Road.
The residents are upset at these actions that are putting them and their homes at higher risk from fire danger. They have forced the Council to act and as from Saturday 23 February the road will be closed with large concrete barricades at either end.
The beach end will be at the top of the dune so be warned that if you race up the dune ignoring the warning signs you are likely to hit those concrete blocks.
I think I know who will come off worse.
Also if you do drive up Muriwai beach remember that some of those dune areas are within the Woodhill Forest boundaries, even though not fully planted at the moment. A closer watch is being made of the area up there and those that do infringe into forest land could find themselves with a trespass notice.
Of course anything off the high waters edge at the top of South Head is of course a complete no go area.
Don't shoot the messenger

Your little birdie must be telling fibs again.
Sorry, but Woodhill 4WD park is still closed and will remain so until significant rain fall. Even the forescast rain this weekend may not be enough.
Its so dry up there that they were planning to close the forest for all access from this weekend and put security in place to keep walkers, mountain bikers etc out.
After a minor fire scare last week the forestry company is very nervous.

Hi Guys
Anyone know if Wilsons will be open this weekend after the rain we have had?
Or is there a number I can call to find out closer to the day?
Cheers

Wilson Road has still got concrete blocks across it from the Council. They also have cameras set up to catch those trying to get around them.
The Jeep Park will still be Closed this weekend too.
