Video of driving up Burkes Pass this morning.....

Image

Drove over the Mackenzie Pass on the way back home. That was abit of fun

Didnt make it to the hut, due to the river levels.... Kinda knew the Macaulay river would be up, but hey got to play in snow instead more than made up for it.

By the looks of it, getting down to lilybank from the hut will be a interesting due to the amount of snow that has fallen up there.

Yep surely could be. I did suggest it can be a less than hospitable place in winter. I haven't heard how they getting on getting out yet.

Also if your unsure ring canterbury mountain radio they could do a message at broadcast to check in if you havent heard from the party

Normally a good place in winter its main time i go up, snow makes it a more pleasent drive and the river can sometime be near empty due to the snow if it ant melting
