For Tukino

Postby collaboration » Mon Apr 21, 2014 9:04 pm

I've never been up to Tukino before, but thinking of getting a season pass for this winter.

I have normal set of tyres for road use. Do I need to upgrade these? More suited for snow and off road condition? I don't even know what kind of road condition Tukino is in. Any advices will be great. :) :)

They go up to the ski lodge in AWD cars, so road tyres will be fine.

I did it in my jeep with road tires in the middle of the heaviest snow fall they had last season with no problems.

Yup, what DB says...
Ive never used 4wd going up there with the exception on a miserable night in blizzard conditions where we barely made it with 35" muds lol
But that was years ago, the road is getting better and better, on a good day you can get up there in a 2wd road car.

Did it in my winch truck on 35" Simex (only 4wd I had) and went in with tow Subaru's. Wished I had taken my Corolla.
Actually I had a hell of a good time on the way out pretending to be BJ Baldwin.

Yep we drove up in the snow to find half the people up there drove in using 2wd cars!
Had masses of fun in some really big puddles down near the road tho'
Also took a pic of the Disco3 that ended up being used on a Disco3 club calendar. Quite happy about that. :)
